Dual-Credit

In addition to our Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses, Xavier students are able to advance their educational experience and prepare for their future higher educational aspirations through enrollment in Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment (DC/DE).

EARLY COLLEGE & DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES

Thanks to our partnership with Lone Star College - Houston North and Houston Community College, Xavier students may enroll in academic and/or technical courses for college credit while simultaneously earning high school credit. These are rigorous college-level courses that require more homework than grade-level classes, but also offer our students opportunities to adjust to collegiate life before attending college. Students are able to take these courses either at Xavier, at one of the Lone Star or HCC campuses, online or through a hybrid model. Grades for these courses appear on both the student’s high school transcript and college transcript. Weighted grades are awarded for Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment courses. The following DC/EC courses are available to Xavier students:

While enrolled in DC/EC courses, students are paired with a Xavier teacher who will act as an advisor. This helps students with the transition to collegiate learning.

HOW WE SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS

RESPECT

Middle school is a critical moment in every student’s journey, and Xavier’s individualized approach is often a perfect fit for students as they make the transition from elementary school to high school. We provide each student with a safe space to learn and develop their academic skills and habits.

HIGH SCHOOL

Our high school programming continues to build on the independent foundation from our elementary and middle-school courses and prepares students for college life. We give our students the chance to get involved in the community through various volunteer opportunities and learn more about non-academic, “real world” topics such as nutrition and wellness.
