Admission Mission
Our mission is to treat all applications fairly and with respect. in all cases, our decisions are reached by multiple individuals reviewing the application and voting in a manner they believe is in the best interest of the student and Xavier Academy. We take this responsibility seriously and realize we are dealing with our applicants’ lives and future directions.
Application Deadlines
Xavier Academy offers open/rolling enrollment, thus there is no deadline.
When can I start my application?
Xavier Academy begins accepting applications anytime throughout the year and will accept transfer students from private and public institutions and home schools from the United States and internationally. Applications from families learning of relocation to Houston are accepted throughout the year, and transfer students are welcome.
What is required with the application?
The completed online application form and a non-refundable $95.
Do you require a standardized admission test?
There is no required standardized test required for admission. As supporting documentation, we will accept them to assist in course-level selections. Standardized tests accepted:
- Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI)
- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)
- Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) by ERB
- Stanford, Iowa, CTP, MAP, etc.
How will I receive updates about my application?
Our admission staff maintains open lines of communication throughout the entire process. Depending on the need, we have enrolled students in as little as 24 hours.
Do I need to provide any additional information beyond the required documents?
In some cases, we will ask for mid-year or mid-term grades, additional recommendations, or a personal interview. When we ask for mid-year grades and/or a personal interview, etc., you must take responsibility for getting the grade report to Xavier Academy and completing the interview.
Do I need to provide any additional information beyond the required documents?
We take a holistic approach. Additionally, participation and demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities, strength and depth of writing samples, educational testing (if any), a medical letter about any diagnosis (if any), cogency and content of recommendations, campus visit, legacy connections, and recognition/achievement in national programs may also be considered.
Does Xavier Academy accept homeschooled students? Are there any additional requirements?
Xavier Academy welcomes applications from homeschooled students. Many of these students may be attracted to the small class sizes, the personal attention in the classroom, and the active approach to learning outside the classroom. Homeschooled students are evaluated by the same criteria for admission as those graduating from an accredited school.
Do you have transportation available?
Xavier does not offer transportation at this time.
Do you have an after-school program?
Yes. The Xavier Academy program starts right after school. The program runs until 6:00 p.m.
Is there a legacy policy?
Xavier Academy gives priority consideration to the children of a parent affiliated with the school in one of the following ways:
- Is a graduate or employee of the school
- Have children enrolled or currently applying
- Recommendation from a specialist
